SELF-HELP GROUPS

Why?

When you experience extreme poverty and marginalisation, sometimes all it takes is a little encouragement and moral support to help you succeed.

This is why we do what we do!

What?

Our LAMP groups – self-help – provide an environment where women can develop and grow in confidence, as they are empowered economically.

MUTUAL SUPPORT

The key to the success of LAMP groups is the mutual encouragement and support provided and received by the group members.

ADVICE

Local LAMP staff help group members to register with the government for various benefits and entitlements.

SAVING AND MONEY MANAGEMENT

LAMP staff help the group to open a bank account, and trains members in basic money management skills including saving. They can also provide LAMP grants for small business start-ups.

We want to facilitate more LAMP groups to help women grow in confidence and become productive members of society.
